Character Biography

Sally Whitemane, daughter of Lordaeron, was forced by the horrific Undead Plague

to strike down her own infected family during her childhood. Later adopted by High

Lord Mograine, she grew up alongside his son, Renault Mograine. Though they

became childhood sweethearts, their deep affection remained a forbidden secret

due to the High Lord's stern disapproval. Driven by resentment, Renault was

eventually lured by the Scourge into committing parricide.

Despite knowing the truth, Whitemane chose to shield him, guarding the dark secret

together. Rising to the rank of High Inquisitor of the Scarlet Crusade, she succumbed

to paranoia under the manipulation of a Dreadlord, launching a fanatical and bloody

campaign of vengeance against the undead. Her life ended at the Scarlet Monasteryat the hands of Lilian Voss, only to be resurrected by the Knights of the Ebon Blade

as a Death Knight.

Now, as one of the New Four Horsemen, she continues to fight in the very undead

form she once loathed most.

Character Personality

Whitemane is defined by a paradoxical "ice and fire" nature—a cold exterior masking

a fanatically devout heart. In the twilight of the Scarlet Crusade, she was known as a

ruthless, extremist High Inquisitor who showed no mercy to heretics or those

suspected of infection. This madness was fueled by the profound trauma of her

shattered childhood; her hatred for the Scourge became her sole reason for

existence, turning the Holy Light from a blessing into a weapon of pure rage.

Yet, beneath this chilling shell lay an ironclad loyalty and a protective soul for her

comrades and lover. Her devotion to Renault Mograine was pure and absolute,

transcending the world’s judgment. Her iconic battle cry,

"Arise, my champion!"

was more than just a spell—it was a timeless vow of reliance on her lover.

This tragic figure, often cast in a subservient and passive role by fate, spent her life

reacting to the crushing blows of destiny, only finding true respite in the finality of

death.
